Circling Hands
There’s Qi Gong that is complex with the sheer volume of physical choreography that is required to be learnt. Circling Hands though is only one simple movement which requires relatively little time and space to do. This makes it a very accessible entry program into Qi Gong and develops a solid foundation. The simplicity of the movement doesn’t detract from the potential of a lot of complex internal work.

The aim recently of these Qi Gong classes has been to develop the alignment, choreography and lengthening to start opening the joints of the body. We have looked at the hip joint, wrists and ankle. The last class didn’t achieve presenting the last two major joints in the body, that of the knee and elbow. Just to note any joint (synovial ie knee, cartilaginous ie pubic symphysis in the pelvis or fibrous ie the plates of the skull) in the body can eventually be pulsed. These classes are developing the lengthening and pulsing of the more accessible joints, which once they start to move can allow the transference of their movement to initiate the harder joints to feel and thus open.

This class will look at the knee and elbow, as offered last time. It will be the last class, for a while, that will look at the joint pulsing. After this class I will aim to look at the spinal work in circling hands.

Next class is Saturday 2nd June and will be held in Haywards Heath.
